Support for the Arts (Xylophone in the Woods)
by Hanna
For those who haven’t seen it yet, here is Bach’s Kantata 147, “Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben (Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring)” as recreated on a wood xylophone in the woods.
The ending to the video is somewhat of a let down, but at the same time I think it’s simply wonderful these artists were given such a lovely opportunity to create their own kind of music and share it with such a wide audience. Does anyone have a better suggestion for supporting artists? The state? Private patrons? They seem to all have their own agendas, too.
A video on the making of the commercial is on the Docomo website.
Seeing the scenery makes me want to go hiking now. . .
This music I know from Christmas times .. and now I am enjoying the clip for Easter !!
It is amazing and I wonder how they did built the instrument !! Little ball looks like an egg!
There are so many “things” out there, and Hanna is enriching my daily life with posting
so many different ideas. I will go and hear the Japanese pianist Ushida later – she is playing
an all Beethoven program. Music is a healing thing.
All the best for the new week.
