Hanna McGaughey is postdoctoral fellow at the Hosei University Noh Theatre Research Institute with funding from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and Kakenhi.

Her areas of expertise are theatrical gender performance, patronage, and politics in the Muromachi period and digital editing, text mining methods from the digital humanities, but her interests are far reaching throughout the history of Japanese literature and intellectual history.

She also likes to cook and share food.
